Over $5,000 in merchandise shoplifted from 3 HRM stores
Apple TVs and high-end thermostats targetted by three suspects at Future Shop, Best Buy
Halifax police are searching for a trio of suspects who shoplifted more than $5,000 worth of Apple TVs and high-end thermostats last month from three electronics stores.
On Oct. 10 two Future Shops — one on Damascus Road in Bedford, the other on Gale Terrace in Dartmouth — were hit by two men and one woman working together.
The next afternoon the same three are suspected of stealing from the Best Buy in Bayers Lake.
Police said the suspects worked with each other inside the stores using wireless communication.
In each case they took Apple TVs and Nest Thermostats, leaving the store without paying for the merchandise.
On Tuesday, Halifax Regional Police released surveillance pictures, hoping the public can help identify the suspects.
- The first is a man of Middle Eastern descent, about six feet tall and between 40 and 45 years old. Police said he is very heavy set, thought to be bald, and wore a beige billed cap. He wore jeans and a dark three-quarter length button up jacket.
- The second man is between 30 and 40 years old, of Middle Eastern descent, and about five foot eleven inches. Police estimate he weighs between 200 and 220 pounds. Police said he had dark hair and was wearing dark sunglasses, a dark long sleeved shirt, and blue jeans.
- Police said the woman is between 30 and 40 years old and wore a black hijab with a light coloured pattern. She is of Middle Eastern descent, weighs between 120 and 130 pounds, and is about five foot four inches tall, according to police. She wore a three-quarter length dress with black leggings and carried a large black handbag with white stripes.
