Ottawa runner first to finish grueling Cabot Trail race
Nick Best among 1,200 runners on 70 teams participating in 2-day race
Ottawa runner Nick Best was the first to cross the finish line of the 17 leg, 300-kilometre Cabot Trail Relay in Baddeck, Sunday morning.
Best ran 17 kilometres for his role on team Cardio Arrest from Toronto. He was one of about 1,200 runners on 70 teams who looped the scenic route over two days.
The official winners will be announced at a banquet Sunday afternoon.
Last year, a group from Maine called the Mainiacks won the relay.
