A Nova Scotia man is facing drug charges after Manitoba RCMP pulled over a transport truck and say they found more than 60 kilograms of marijuana inside.

On Monday, RCMP pulled over a truck on the Trans-Canada Highway near Portage la Prairie.

Lawrence Edward Millen, 55, from Nova Scotia faces a charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking marijuana.

The charges come after a nearly two-month investigation RCMP dubbed Project Durable.

Millen appeared in Winnipeg court Tuesday and has been released on conditions until his next court appearance on May 29.
