All of Nova Scotia is under a special weather alert for heavy rain that could lead to flooding.
Environment Canada says a vigorous low-pressure system should cross the Maritimes Friday and Saturday, bringing a strong cold front.
The alert says the system could drop a lot of rain that could lead to localized flooding. Environment Canada can't yet forecast which areas will see the greatest precipitation.
A significant amount of rainfall would be welcome in southwestern Nova Scotia which has been experiencing a drought for months.
However flood-ravaged Cape Breton, which received a record-smashing 225 millimetres in one day over Thanksgiving weekend, doesn't need anymore rain.
