Halifax police will not be laying charges in a fatal collision between a pedestrian and a pickup truck that occurred at the intersection of Thistle Street and Victoria Road on May 3.

The police investigation determined that the “do not walk” signal was displayed at the time the driver made the left turn.

The incident happened at 11:05 a.m. Police responded to a car and pedestrian collision in Dartmouth.

A 57-year-old woman using a three-wheeled scooter was travelling north, crossing Thistle Street in a marked crosswalk.

A white pickup truck driven by a 50-year-old man travelling south on Victoria Road collided with the pedestrian while making a left turn.

The truck had a green light when making the turn.

The woman later died in hospital.
