N.S. RCMP arrest Ogilvie assault suspect
An RCMP emergency response team surrounded a home in Ogilvie, N.S., Saturday evening, but the 58-year-old man suspected of assaulting a woman was gone when officers went in and wasn't arrested until late Sunday morning.
Police were called to the scene on Long Point Road around 5 p.m. after the woman managed to leave the Kings County home.
There were reports the suspect remained inside and might have a gun. Officers waited until about 9 p.m. before going into the home.
Police say the man was already gone, but officers did find a gun.
The suspect, however, returned Sunday morning and police arrested him around 11:20 a.m. The man is facing assault, uttering threats and weapons-related charges.
He's in custody and will appear in court on Monday.
