A 20-year-old man from Sussex, N.B. has been charged with stunting and impaired driving after he was clocked going 135 km/h in a 50 km/h zone on Pictou Road Monday evening.
RCMP Northern Traffic Services had set up a speed trap and caught a man in a 2006 Mazda 626 travelling almost three times the legal speed limit.
After police stopped the man, he showed signs of impairment and was taken to Bible Hill where he provided breath samples, police said in a news release.
The 20-year-old was then charged with impaired driving and stunting, and his car was seized.
The penalty for stunting is $2,412.41.
The man is scheduled to appear in Truro Provincial Court on March 26 to answer to the impaired driving charges.
