Multiple stabbing in Dartmouth investigated by police
Three men, ages 18 to 19, were taken to hospital but are expected to survive
Halifax Regional Police are investigating a multiple stabbing near Banook Lake in Dartmouth on Monday night.
Police were called to Birch Cove Park at 11:30 p.m. after a report about a fight involving a knife.
Sgt. Kevin McNeil says when they arrived they found three victims, two 18-year-old men and one 19-year-old man.
They were taken to hospital but are expected to survive.
McNeil said witness interviews helped in the investigation.
"We did identify a suspect and, as a result, we were looking for a 16-year-old male," he said.
"We searched the area in the hours following the incident and he was located and arrested exiting a small wooded area in the 300 block of Portland Street just after 3 a.m."
McNeil said the suspect remains in custody.
No charges have been laid.
