Two Bedford parents are pleading for the public's help to locate their daughter, who has been missing for nearly two weeks.

Catherine Miller, who also goes by Catie, was last heard from on July 15. Her mother, Terry Miller, received a text message from her daughter that said Catie had scheduled an appointment for Monday.

"She had made an appointment that should have been important to her because it related to her son, our grandson, that was to take place today," said John Miller, Catie's father.

"We were kind of clinging to that."

But his daughter didn't show up to the appointment.

"This morning, when I was waiting to find out if she kept that appointment, my heart was in my throat. It's hard to explain," John Miller said Monday.

Terry said this is the toughest thing she's ever endured.

"You go to bed at night wondering if she's alive or dead or who's got her or if she's been kidnapped," she said.

"It's the worst thing I've ever had to endure, I'd say. The absolute worst thing."

Catie Miller is from Bedford, but lives in Dartmouth. She went to King's-Edgehill School in Windsor and later Saint Mary's University. After university, she went to NSCC and trained to be an electrician.

After graduation, Miller's parents said she had difficulty finding work, which led to some problems with depression.

Halifax Regional Police said the investigation is active, but there are no new developments. Officers are still canvassing the areas where Miller lives and they're also checking into electronic records such as her bank and phone accounts.

They say there's no reason to suspect she's been hurt.

Her parents, meanwhile, say it is out of character for their daughter to stay out of touch for this long. They're hoping someone can give a tip to investigators.

"I've got to think that somebody knows something out there," said John Miller.

Catie Miller is white, five feet eight inches tall and weighs 130 pounds with brown hair and grey eyes.
