New Brunswick RCMP have confirmed human remains found earlier this week in Riverview are those of a Halifax-area man who was reported missing in August 2007.
Emmett Price, who was 18 years old when he was reported missing, was identified with the help of dental records after his skeletal remains were found by two hikers in a wooded area next to Gunningsville Boulevard in Riverview over the weekend.
New Brunswick RCMP said Price's cause of death had not yet been determined, but the evidence so far does not point to foul play. Investigators are attempting to determine how long his remains may have been in the woods.
At the time of his disappearance on Aug. 8, 2007, Halifax Regional Police said Price left his home in Fall River with no money or identification. He was last seen in Moncton the day after.
Investigators said Price had schizophrenic episodes and took medication, which he did not have with him.
RCMP are asking anyone who may have seen or spoken to Price around the time he was reported missing to contact them.
