A 19-year-old man is recovering after he was struck by an SUV in a Halifax crosswalk Wednesday evening.

The car that hit him was a marked Metro Transit vehicle being driven by a 48-year-old supervisor who was on duty at the time.

It happened just at 5:50 p.m. on South Street, on the Dalhousie University campus.

Police say the young man’s injuries are not life threatening.

Police said they're investigating.
