Two suspects arrested Friday in connection with the murder of Matthew Thomas Sudds last fall have been released without charges.

A passerby found the 24-year-old man's body in a ditch halfway between the Africville Museum and the Fairview Cove container terminal last October. The case was declared a homicide soon after.

Police say he was shot to death.

On Friday, officers arrested a 29-year-old Halifax man in the city and a 23-year-old woman in Ontario.

The pair were released Saturday morning without charges.

Police say the investigation into Sudds' murder is ongoing.

Investigators have said Sudds was last seen by friends on Oct. 10. They believe Sudds was shot and killed later that same day. His body was found four days later.

In 2012, Sudds was on the most-wanted list for the Halifax Regional Police for assault and failing to comply with conditions.
