Nova Scotia RCMP are looking for a man who said he had a weapon when he robbed a store in Salmon River.

The man masked himself before robbing the Needs convenience store on East Prince Street in the Colchester County community at 6:45 a.m. Sunday. 

"A lone suspect entered the store with his face covered and indicated to the female employee that he had a weapon. He requested money and cigarettes and left the scene on foot with an undetermined amount of money," said RCMP Cst. Alain LeBlanc. 

RCMP were called and searched for the man, but didn't find him.

"Police believe a getaway vehicle was waiting for the suspect," LeBlanc said. 

The suspect is described as:

  • White.
  • About 19 years old.
  • Wearing black coat, grey hoodie and grey scarf.
  • Wearing white leather gloves.

Police are still looking for the man.
