A 27-year-old man was sent to hospital after being stabbed with a broken beer bottle at the Toothy Moose on Saturday night, according to police.

Halifax police say two men got into a fight at the Argyle Street bar and a 21-year-old allegedly cut the victim with a broken bottle.

The victim was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

A witness chased the suspect and police arrested him on Argyle Street.

The 21-year-old is scheduled to appear in court on Monday to face a charge of assault with a weapon causing bodily harm.

Police said it's not clear whether the two knew each other.
