Man stabbed on Portland Street
61-year-old male victim in QEII with non-life threatening injuries
A 61-year-old man was taken to hospital after being stabbed on Portland Street in Dartmouth Wednesday night.
Police were called to the area at 9:32 p.m.
They said the victim was in a verbal fight with a 69-year-old man outside a business.
Police said the older man had a knife, and stabbed the victim in the stomach area.
Staff from the business stopped the suspect from leaving the area until police arrived. He was then taken into custody.
The victim was transported to the QEII hospital, but he is expected to recover from his injuries.
Police said that charges are anticipated.
