Man dragged, sent to hospital in Clayton Park road chase
Incident happened in Halifax suburb Saturday evening
A dangerous road chase and crash in the Halifax suburb of Clayton Park Saturday evening sent one man to hospital and has police trying to track down two suspects believed to be involved.
It began in a parking lot at the corner of Glen Forrest Drive and Lacewood Drive before 6 p.m.
Halifax Regional Police said a 23-year-old man was having a dispute with two other men inside a car.
HRP Staff Sgt. Lindsay Hernden said the man then tried to grab something from the vehicle.
"The individuals in the car took that opportunity to drive away and drag this young fellow up the road a bit. He fell from the vehicle and ended up injuring himself. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries. This whole incident apparently took place in front of this young man's family who then chased the vehicle down the road and subsequently off the road," said Hernden.
The car finally crashed into a tree.
The pair inside then took off on foot. A canine unit was brought in but the suspects have not been caught.
Police have identified the owner of the crashed vehicle and the investigation continues.
The people involved are known to each other, said police.
