A 26-year-old man from Dartmouth was arrested Sunday after a stolen car was seen driving recklessly on Kennedy Drive in Dartmouth, police say.
He is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court this morning to answer to a series of driving and weapons related criminal charges.
At 6:50 p.m. Sunday, Halifax police were notified that someone was driving a stolen motor vehicle in a reckless manner and was armed with a pellet handgun on Kennedy Drive in Dartmouth.
Police located the suspect vehicle, but it fled when officers tried to pull it over. A short time later, the same vehicle was seen in downtown Halifax continuing to drive in a reckless and dangerous fashion that resulted in a collision with another vehicle at the five corners intersection in Halifax. No one was injured.
Officers then followed the vehicle to West Street, where the members were able to box-in the car, preventing the driver from escaping. He was then arrested.
