Man charged after crash on Lucasville Road
Police say traffic down to one lane of alternating traffic
A two-vehicle crash on Lucasville Road this morning has led to criminal charges against a 26-year-old man.
Police say they were attempting to pull over the driver of a grey Honda for speeding when the driver took off. The car crossed into oncoming traffic and lost control, hitting the shoulder of the road and a truck.
RCMP Staff Sgt. Scott Warnica said a driver was passing other vehicles near the 1400-block of Lucasville Road at about 7:45 a.m. when the crash happened.
“That driver has been taken into custody for dangerous driving and flight from police,“ said Warnica at the scene.
He said it’s going to take a little longer than usual to clear the scene.
“For the next several hours we will have one lane shut down to alternating traffic, so vehicles will be able to get through but there may be a slight delay here while we investigate the crash,” said Warnica.
The man remains in custody. His name has not been released.
