A man was approached by a group of up to nine people and attacked by two of them in Dartmouth, N.S., Tuesday evening.

Police say the attack happened at 6:45 p.m. on Park Avenue. The man, 21, encountered a group of men and women. Two of the men assaulted the victim. He was kicked, punched and knocked to the ground.

The thieves took his wallet and phone. The attackers rejoined their group and left.

The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are investigating, but have made no arrests.
