One of two men wanted on a Canada-wide warrant after a break-in and shooting at an apartment in Spryfield has been arrested, say Halifax Regional Police.
Anthony Michael Leadley, 21, was arrested Wednesday evening at approximately 6 p.m. at a residence on Windmill Road in Dartmouth.
He's scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court on Thursday, facing charges of attempted murder, assault with a weapon, possession of a prohibited weapon, robbery, breaking and entering and a slew of other charges.
Christian Enang Clyke, 20, is facing the same charges and is also wanted on the Canada-wide warrant. He is still at large.
Clyke is black, six feet tall, weighs about 150 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.
Halifax Regional Police said Clyke is considered armed and dangerous and they're advising people not to approach him. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call the police immediately.
The search for the men began after officers were called to Forbes Street in Spryfield at 10:12 p.m. on Tuesday night.
Halifax Regional Police said a man reported two men — one with a handgun — broke into his apartment.
The suspects chased the victim out of the apartment and at least two shots were fired before the suspects fled.
No one was injured.
Just before 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Halifax Regional Police officers spotted a vehicle associated with the suspects in the break-in.
As they followed the car, it went behind an apartment building on Windmill Road in Dartmouth and the driver fled on foot. He was not found.
Halifax Regional Police said the shooting was not random.
