A 21-year-old man is facing charges after two attempted break and enters in Halifax early Thursday morning.

At 2:40 a.m., police were called to an attempted break and enter at a home Charles Street near Robie. The person who lives in the home told police someone tried to get into the house through a patio door but it appeared the door chime scared the person away.

Officers and a canine unit began a search of the area.

At around the same time, a second break and enter was called in from a home in the 2300-block of Clifton Street.

A short time later, police arrested a 21-year-old man at the corner of Maynard and West streets.

The man remains in police custody and is facing charges of attempted break and enter and violation of a court order.
