Man, 80, dies on fishing outing near Bridgewater
Police said Harris Arthur Turner fell into the water
An 80-year-old Nova Scotia man has died after he fell into the water on Wentzell's Lake near Bridgwater, say police.
Harris Arthur Turner and a 63-year-old man were fishing in a small aluminum boat when they ran into trouble around 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Local fishermen pulled the men out of the water before emergency crews arrived.
Both were taken to hospital where Turner later died from his injuries.
RCMP Sgt. Alain Leblanc said the cause of death hasn't been determined, but there are early indications.
"You know one thing I know for sure is that water was very cold and it's not like it was a summer dive," he said.
The 63-year-old man has been released from the South Shore Regional Hospital.
Leblanc said both men were from the area and an investigation is underway.
