Man, 18, stabbed in apparent random attempted robbery
RCMP called to scene of stabbing on Governor's Lake Road in Timberlea
A 18-year-old man was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries after he was stabbed in an apparent random attempted robbery in Timberlea early Sunday.
RCMP were called to a home on Governors Lake Road around 2:40 a.m. on Sunday.
Police were told that the 18-year-old was in the backyard of the home with a few others when a masked man attempted to steal his watch.
There was a brief struggle and the masked man stabbed the victim with a knife in his lower abdomen.
The suspect then ran away from the scene.
The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers and a canine unit searched the area but did not find the suspect.
Police are investigating the incident and ask anyone with information to contact them.
