An 18-year-old man is facing charges after a stabbing early Wednesday morning.

At 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, a 31-year-old woman who was bleeding from the back approached a delivery person on Wyse Road. She said she had been stabbed.

Initial police reports said the victim told officers she was stabbed following a confrontation with two female suspects on Primrose Street. She was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

At 7:20 p.m. Wednesday night Halifax Regional Police executed a search warrant at an apartment on Primrose Street.

Following the search an 18-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman were taken into custody.

After further investigation, the woman was released without charges.

The man remains in police custody and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court Thursday to face charges of assault with a weapon.
