RCMP say a complaint made by a 37-year-old woman that she’d been sexually assaulted near the Kinsmen Park in Lower Sackville last week is unfounded.

The woman reported she was sexually assaulted by two men on a pathway near Sackville High School on Oct. 21. Police searched the area using a canine unit.

On Thursday, RCMP said they had investigated thoroughly but found the complaint had no validity and there is not risk to the public.

RCMP say they want to continue to encourage anyone who's been the victim of sexual assault to report it to police.
