Ketch Harbour search finds guns and drugs

A 40-year-old man is facing weapons charges and drug trafficking charges after police searched a home in Ketch Harbour on Saturday.

A 40-year-old man has been arrested

A handgun, a loaded shotgun and several other long guns were confiscated after officers searched a home in the 1000 block of Ketch Harbour Road in Ketch Harbour, according to the Halifax Regional Police.  

Several drugs were found as well including marijuana, methamphetamine, and cannabis resin. 

Members of the integrated criminal investigation division along with members of the Halifax Regional Police Emergency Response Team searched the house around 8:40 p.m. on Saturday. 

A 40-year-old man from Ketch Harbour was arrested and remanded into custody. 

Police said the man is facing weapons charges as well as drug trafficking charges. 

He'll appear in court in Halifax on Monday.
