An Edmonton man has been sentenced to four years in prison, minus five months for time served, after being convicted of stabbing a Cape Breton man to death at an Alberta hotel in 2012.
Cody Kyle Jensen, 23, will serve three years and seven months after being convicted of manslaughter in the death of 22-year-old Kenzie John Beaton, of Mabou, Cape Breton.
Beaton, who moved to Alberta for work, was stabbed to death at a Jasper, Alta. hotel on Jan. 28, 2012. Beaton suffered a stab wound in his lower abdomen.
Police say the incident appears to have been random.
