Halifax Regional Police say a 19-year-old man initially left the scene before getting treated

A 19-year-old man who was hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Jubilee Road and Robie Street around midnight was treated in hospital for his injuries but he initially fled after the collision, Halifax Regional Police say.

They say the 59-year-old man who was driving alerted them that he'd hit someone.

The victim was found nearby getting treatment from paramedics. He was sent to hospital and remained there several hours after the collision, police say.

Police continue to investigate and couldn't say whether there would be charges.
