Members of the Halifax Regional Police/RCMP General Investigation Section have laid more charges after a double stabbing on Jarvis Lane in Halifax early Saturday.

Police were called there Saturday at 12:10 a.m. where they found a 19-year-old man who had been stabbed multiple times in the torso.

He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police say the man was stabbed during an altercation with another man.

Later that morning, police arrested a 31-year-old man on Highfield Drive in Dartmouth. Police say that man also had stab wounds but survived.

A police investigation has determined the two men stabbed each other and this was not a random incident.

Both the 19-year-old and 31-year-old involved in the incident face the following charges:

  • Aggravated assault.
  • Assault with a weapon.
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
