Indian Sluice Bridge comes down piece by piece
The 190-metre span opened in 1909 and is being dismantled now that a new two-lane span is open
The Indian Sluice Bridge is being dismantled now that a new two-lane connector is serving the communities of Morris Island, Surettes Island and Sluice Point, N.S.
The bridge opened in 1909.
Its centre span will be placed on barges and moved to another location for demolition.
The centre span was removed Wednesday afternoon as dozens of residents stood on the shoreline watching.
