Highway 103 crash leads to impaired driving charge for Watford man
The cause of the accident is still being investigated
Lunenburg County RCMP have charged a 40-year-old Watford man with impaired driving following a head-on collision along Highway 103 on Sunday.
RCMP were called to the crash between exits 10 and 11 at about 6 p.m. Sunday.
Police say a car travelling west crashed, head-on, with a car heading east.
The man driving the west-bound car was first taken to hospital in Bridgewater, then transferred to Halifax. The woman driving the other vehicle was taken to hospital but police say she will survive.
Both were released from hospital.
The highway was closed in both directions for about four hours on Sunday.
The accused will appear in Bridgewater Provincial Court on Sept. 3 to face charges of impaired driving.
An RCMP collision analyst has been called in to help with the investigation.
