Don’t expect to dry out anytime soon. There’s a heavy rainfall warning in effect for southwestern Nova Scotia.
Digby, Yarmouth, Shelburne and Queens counties could see between 40 and 70 millimetres of rain.
Smoke from forest fires in Labrador is moving over the Maritimes and could descend close to the ground reducing air quality, said CBC meteorologist Peter Coade.
The brief sun on Canada Day was "just a temporary break" and most of the province can expect "fog and drizzle" for the rest of the work week, said Coade.
But there is hope.
"Generally the weekend looks to be mostly sunny and very warm," said Coade.
