Handgun, bear spray recovered after north-end Halifax crash
Two men, ages 18 and 25, in police custody
Halifax Regional Police have arrested two men following a car crash early Monday morning in the north end of the city.
At 5:48 a.m., police responded to the intersection of Lynch and Duffus streets after a report that a vehicle had hit the curb.
By the time officers arrived, the people in the vehicle had run away. Halifax Regional Police said they found a can of bear spray inside.
A canine unit tracked the suspects to a nearby home where they were arrested without incident.
Police said a handgun was found outside the residence.
An 18-year-old man and a 25-year-old man, both from Halifax, are currently in police custody being questioned.
No charges have been laid.
