A 50-year-old man was beaten up on a Halifax Transit bus for asking a passenger to turn his music down, police say.

The incident happened on Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m., but police only released details today.

The victim said he got on the bus near the Halifax Shopping Centre and asked the man behind him to turn down his music.

“The man became irate at the victim and repeatedly hit him in the face,” said Cst. Pierre Bourdages.

The driver heard a fight and pulled the number 2 over on Bayers Road to call police. The victim suffered minor injuries and the attacker fled on foot down Desmond Avenue.
