Halifax Regional Police are asking for the public's help to find a suspect after a 24-year-old woman was sexually assaulted Saturday in the city's south end.

At 2:50 a.m. on Saturday, officers were called to the intersection of South Street and Church Street.

Police said a 24-year-old woman was walking on South Street when a man who was walking on the other side of the street, crossed the road and started walking behind her.

She told police the man made lewd comments to her then touched her inappropriately.

The man took off when the woman yelled out.

The woman then made her way to a nearby business and called police.

Investigators are looking for a white man in his 20s with a medium build who is about five feet eight inches or five feet nine inches tall, with brown eyes and a large nose.

He was wearing a fitted ski mask or dickey covering his mouth, a dark hoodie, a dark hat, a dark ski jacket with a large stripe across the front, blue jeans and white running shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the RCMP, Halifax Regional Police or Crime Stoppers.
