Halifax search and rescue needs help after fire
The Halifax Search and Rescue team is marking a 40-year anniversary under some unfortunate circumstances.
Instead of helping others, the group is asking for help from the public after a fire on Friday at the group's base destroyed a search vehicle.
Their garage in Lakeview also sustained smoke damage.
Tony Rodgers is a volunteer with the group.
"We're going to continue doing our job out in the woods where we do our work best," said Rodgers, "But, if there's anybody out there that wants to rescue us, that'd be good too."
He said anyone who wants to make a donation can do so through their website, http://halifaxsar.ca.
