Two youths remain in the custody of Halifax police after a 19-year-old man was allegedly abducted and assaulted, with one assailant reportedly having a handgun.

Halifax Regional Police say they were called to a home on McAlpine Avenue in Halifax around 4:50 a.m. Sunday after the victim called police from inside the residence.

The man managed to get out and was taken to hospital. He's expected to recover from his injuries.

Officers contacted the people still inside and they emerged. Two youths, a man and a woman were taken into custody. They were questioned by police.

The two adults have since been released.

Police say the incident was not random and the victim knows some of the alleged attackers.
