A man and a woman from Halifax are facing charges after a violent robbery Tuesday night on Barrington Street.
At 9:30 p.m. officers were told of a robbery on the 2100 block of the street.
A 43-year-old man was approached by another man and a woman known to him, and he was severely beaten.
Police said the suspects ran away after stealing the victim’s money.
The victim made his way to a nearby business and called police.
Paramedics took him to hospital where he was treated for serious facial injuries.
Martin Andrew Ross, 27, and Holly Lynn MacDonald, 33, were arrested before 5 a.m. Wednesday on Gottingen Street. Both are facing charges of robbery and breaching a court order.
Ross is also facing a charge of assault causing bodily harm.
Ross and MacDonald were scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
Investigators believe this incident was drug related and wasn’t random.
