A 32-year-old Halifax man is facing a series of charges related to a robbery on Jan. 30 where the victim was allegedly grabbed and sexually assaulted near the Dalhousie University campus.

A 20-year-old woman was walking along Edward Street at around 9:45 p.m. when a man grabbed her and demanded she turn over her wallet.

Halifax Regional Police have said a man held her, made sexual remarks, put his hands over her breasts and head-butted her.

The woman fought back and her assailant took off without the wallet. The victim went home and called police.

Cory Anthony McKay is charged with robbery, sexual assault, choking to overcome resistance to commit an indictable offence and six breaches of court orders.

Police arrested him on Friday. He is in custody and is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court Monday.
