Five men were arrested after a gang of thieves kicked in an apartment door and robbed a Halifax man Friday morning.

Police were called at 3:50 a.m. to a home invasion in progress on the 6200 block of Allan Street of the city’s west end.

A 30-year-old man was alone in his apartment when robbers kicked in his door. They stole his television and jewelry before fleeing.

Someone else called the police.

At 4:05 a.m., police stopped a car on the Bedford Highway and arrested five men. Officers found stolen goods in the vehicle.

The five men — aged 21, 35, 37, 38 and 40 — are in custody. The police investigation continues.
