A man was stabbed in the face near the Halifax Central Library Tuesday.

Police were called to Spring Garden Road at 12:44 p.m. and found the 35-year-old. He was taken to hospital.

The attacker left the scene before police arrived. He’s described as a white man in his 20s, standing six feet and weighing about 220 pounds.

He had a shaved head and left wearing a red hat, grey t-shirt and jeans.

Police did not say what motivated the attack.
