Two loaded guns seized by Halifax police in two separate incidents
A third loaded gun was seized from another man on Monday
Two loaded guns were seized last night in two separate incidents in Halifax last night, according to Halifax Regional Police.
This is the third time in two days police have seized a loaded gun when they've responded to a call.
On Monday, police arrested a man who was lying on a sidewalk in Halifax after initial reports there was a toy gun next to him. When police arrived they found the uninjured man and a loaded firearm. That man was taken into custody and faces numerous weapons charges. No one was injured.
Last night at 6 p.m. police were called to an assault on Jacob Lane off of Larry Uteck Drive. Police said they seized marijuana from the scene as well as a loaded firearm.
A 29-year-old man from Halifax is facing several weapons and drug charges in relation to that incident.
Then at 11:42 p.m. police stopped a vehicle on Barrington Street in Halifax, between Artz Street and Gerrish Lane, and found a loaded gun in the car.
The car's driver, a 16-year-old boy from Dartmouth, was arrested.
He will appear in Halifax youth court to face weapons charges.
