A North Sydney man is $90,604 richer this Christmas after winning a record-setting Glace Bay Minor Hockey Association draw.
On Sunday Mike Bishop won the now legendary raffle, which supports minor hockey in Glace Bay.
He got the call while at his parents house
Bishop has plenty of ideas how to spend the money.
“I’m going to … pay off my car and help my family out a little bit and probably take the boys to go see a Toronto Maple Leafs game,” he said.
Bishop says while he's excited about his own winning, he's happy the money also goes to help the Glace Bay Minor Hockey Association.
“Oh yes, I did do the happy dance, and I’m probably going to continue to do the happy dance a couple more times,” he said.
The draw began 19 years ago. The raffle now earns more than $1 million in sales every year.
