An 11-year-old girl was injured Friday morning when she was pinned between two vehicles after a car lost control in the parking lot of the Cobequid Community Health Centre.
Cpl. Scott MacRae of the Halifax RCMP says RCMP received a call to the health centre at 8:08 a.m. where a car went out of control striking several vehicles and causing the girl to be pinned between two vehicles.
MacRae says the car continued to move until an officer who happened to be at the hospital and heard the commotion ran over to the vehicle while it was still in motion, grabbed the steering wheel through the drivers open window, and guided the car towards a post where it came to rest.
``Right now the matter remains under investigation but it was quite a scene this morning in the parking lot of the Cobequid Health Centre,`` said MacRae.
MacRae says the officer then alerted officials inside the medical centre that the man was in medical distress. He received medical attention and is in stable condition.
He says the 11-year-old girl obtained non-life threatening injuries to her lower extremities.
The driver is is being treated at the QEII hospital and the girl at the health centre.
