RCMP in Nova Scotia say they are looking for a man wanted for a number of crimes, including fraud and forgery involving stolen identities.

A province wide arrest warrant has been issued for Stephen Wade Tracey, police said Tuesday. They said the 29-year-old has been charged with fraud, forgery, break and enter and possession of stolen property.

Police said a woman who worked with him was arrested Dec. 19 in New Brunswick and remains in custody there.

According to RCMP, a typical scheme involved opening a bank account under a stolen identity, then using the account to purchase items from buy and sell websites.

Investigators believe there may be a number of Nova Scotians who have fallen victim to the fraud.

Tracey is described as white, six feet one inch tall, and about 250 pounds with tattoos on his hands. He is known to travel throughout Nova Scotia and Alberta.

Police ask anyone who knows where Tracey is or thinks they may have been a victim of a scam involving him to contact Windsor District RCMP at 902-798-2207.
