Former N.S. military employee charged over missing $400K
Karen Lorraine Byers had been a civilian employee with the military for 13 years
Military investigators say a former civilian employee, Karen Lorraine Byers, faces a fraud charge after $400,000 disappeared from the family resource centre at an airbase in Nova Scotia.
The Canadian Forces National Investigation Service says its investigation began after military police received a complaint that money had been misappropriated from the family resource centre at Canadian Forces Base Greenwood.
The 55-year-old woman had been a civilian employee with the military for 13 years. She's charged with fraud over $5,000.
Byers is due in provincial court in Kentville on September 29.
