A fire has gutted the kitchen at Pictou Lodge Resort in northern Nova Scotia as the tourism season kicks into high gear.
Volunteer firefighters from four departments rushed to the facility at about midnight Tuesday.
Bert Langille, one of the owners of the lodge, said everything in the kitchen is destroyed, though there is no structural damage.
The fire didn't reach the main part of the lodge.
"The main lodge is in good condition. There is slight smoke damage," said Langille. "There is slight smoke damage to some of the rooms."
There are no reports of injuries.
Langille said the lodge is now looking for a mobile kitchen capable of serving several hundred people at a time.
The fire marshal's office is investigating.
