No one was hurt when a fire broke out Saturday night at a home that's under construction on Armshore Drive.

Halifax Regional Police said one side of a three-storey duplex was on fire when officers arrived just before 10 p.m.

Police notified people nearby of the danger while firefighters put out the blaze.

Pat Kline, fire division commander, said the building is badly damaged but no one was injured.

He said there was no electricity in the building at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
