Ferry between Halifax and Alderney Landing running again
Problem was mechanical in nature; buses brought in to shuttle people across harbour
The ferry between Halifax and Alderney Landing in Dartmouth is back up and running.
Brendan Elliott, a spokesperson for Halifax Regional Municipality, is not sure whether the repairs will be finished in time to allow for regular 15-minute service during the afternoon rush hour.
Transit officials had been shuttling people across the harbour by bus.
HRM says the problem with the ferry was mechanical and not serious.
