Driver, 13, leads police on wild ride
Car going 120 km/h in residential area with 50 km/h limit
Bridgewater police say they were led on a chase by a 13-year-old, four-foot-five driver who was speeding and going the wrong way on a one-way street.
Police said a Pontiac Grand Am was spotted driving erratically early Saturday morning in Bridgewater, N.S.
The car was travelling more than 120 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. It was accelerating, and at that point officers stopped their chase, police said.
Officers found the car a few kilometres away after it hit a fence on York Street. The driver wasn't hurt.
Police said a 13-year-old boy was arrested and handed over to his mother. He is facing charges of:
- Flight from police,
- Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle,
- Theft of a motor vehicle.
